How far is the Airport - can I go to Bad Hoenningen on my own?
Yes, no problem - from Cologne Airport its ½ h to Cologne Station - hourly direct trains take 1 h, it's 10 Min walk from the station to the Hotel and the Spa.
You can also do Eurostar - via Brussels, change there to Duesseldorf - Cologne - Bad Hoenningen.
What do I need to bring as essentials?
For the Spa you will need a large bath towel, ideally a robe, bath - slippers (flip-flops will do), shampoo, etc and a big bag for all that. You can hire robe and towel and slippers - but you will have to let me know in time, as they don’t stock large amounts.
How long can we stay in the water?
As long as you like - the ticket we give you is for 2 hours, bathing is advised for only 20 Min initially- but you can rest and go again as long as you wish- the extra time can be paid for at the exit.
Is the Spa unisex?
No - it is mixed- the changing cubicles are separate but also in one ares- but the shower areas are separate.
What is the food like?
It will be traditional german food - but modern, so fish and pasta will be on the menu as well as salads and chops. There will be a set menu - if you have food intolerances we will try to accommodate them, just let us know when you book!
Can we go shopping?
With some difficulty - german shops close at 2pm Saturday - only very few are open - but there is a small supermarket and a good shoe shop which tend to open even on Sundays.
Can we have a wine tasting?
If there is enough demand, I am happy to arrange for one - you are right in the middle of a white wine producing area.
What else can we do?
There are lots of pubs and restaurants in walking distance.
There are boats to go on the Rhine.
Bonn is ½ h away by train - the former capital of Germany.
But really you are here to rest and relax!!!
